Varve Museum has won the 2nd Japan Museums Association Award!

We are delighted to announce that the Fukui Prefectural Varve Museum has won the 2nd Japan Museums Association Award.

 

We are very honoured to be the only museum in Japan to be selected out of over 5,700 museums and galleries.

 

Encouraged by this award, we will make further efforts to enrich the appeal of the museum and make it more satisfactory for everyone.

To honor an institution that has made a significant contribution to the promotion of museums and has achieved outstanding results that serve as a model for other museums.

Reasons for the award to the Varve Museum

  • Excellent design of the exhibition, including the 45-metre long varve-stained-glass display
  • Longstanding research into the academic and international value of the varves
  • Contribution to the revitalisation of the local area through joint exhibitions with the Jomon Museum, etc.
